ASSESSMENT OF IMPACT OF FUEL PRICES ON THE OPTIMIZATION RESULTS OF ENERGY-EFFICIENT SYSTEMS FOR A SHIP ENGINE

Influence of the world prices of heavy and diesel fuel on the results of parametrical and circuit optimization of energy-efficient systems for low-speed diesel engine is analyzed. Optimum parameters and efficiency factors of diesel generator sets, turbo-generator systems, main engine driven generators, turbo compound systems, complex and combined energy-efficient systems for fuel prices as of October 2010 are given. The complex turbo-generator system with utilization of the leaving gas-es, supercharged air and the water that cools the cylinders of diesel, which features turbo- compound system, has the best thermodynamic and economic efficiencies.
