PHOTOLYTIC DESTRUCTION AS A PURIFICATION METHOD OF SEWAGE FROM ORGANIC COMPOUNDS

The work considers photolytic destruction of various organic substances (such as anionic surface-active substances, oil products) in water at low ingredient concentrations in exposure to 20- and 120-watt ultraviolet irradiators. The efficiency of destruction for those substances as a function of type of organic substances, their initial concentration, and power of irradiator is established. Photolysis as a method for real sewage purification from oil products has been conducted. Detection of destruction products was made by chromato-mass spectrometry; toxicity was done by biotesting method.
