INDEPENDENT MANIFESTATION OF SHIFT AND REFRACTION OF EXTRAORDINARY RAYS IN ANISOTROPIC CRYSTALS

It is possible to observe the independent manifestation of shift and refraction of extraordinary rays in anisotropic crystals of a particular configuration. This fact allows one to design prisms with properties, in which the extraordinary ray emerges from the plane of incidence at a considerable distance.
