Features in the climb and dawn cut in the machine tools with a tangential processing

The experimental results are explained by the design features of the machine tool and a cutting method. It is found that with the climb cut the required power at the cutting moment decreases compared to the idling, and the cutting time is reduced. The maximum of the cutting force is achieved earlier than predicted, and the double shavings are also possible. At the down cut the required power is always larger than that at the idling; the cutting time is increased and the peak of the cutting force is achieved later. This is due to the fact that in the cutting process the rotational frequencies of the tool and the part vary compared to the idling before cutting.
