The Demarcation Problem in Philosophy

The demarcation problem in philosophy as fundamental and constituent one for philosophical knowledge is considered in this paper. The traditional positivistic treatment of the problem as a problem of differentiation between science area and metaphysics does not settle all its contents. There are offered two more aspects of the demarcation problem: the aspect of self-institutionalization and the aspect of communication. It is proved that the problem of demarcation should be raised not as a problem of differentiation of various phenomena, but as a problem of separation of a true phenomenon from a pseudo-phenomenon.
