Science and Consensus. The Criticism of One of the Myths of Ordinary Consciousness

The article is devoted to the criticism of one of the myths of ordinary consciousness – «knowledge without cognizing subject». The authors leitmotif is that the scientific knowledge is simultaneously a reflection of investigated reality and a state of cognizing subject (individual one as well as collective one). Using the materials of history, philosophy, and sociology of science the author tries to show that the scientific knowledge gone through negotiations and debates has a consensus nature.

Keywords: scientific knowledge, object, subject, culture, social sector, negotiations, consensus
